Vashisht joined the SPP Lab as a first year MA student in September 2016. Prior to that, he completed his Honours BSc in Psychology and the Medical Sciences at the University of Western Ontario. He completed his SSHRC-funded MA in Psychological Science with Dr. Becky Choma, in August 2018. For his graduate research, he explored the influence of socio-political ideology and threat perceptions on attitudes towards vegans and vegetarians, including double outgroups (Sikhs who identify as vegan or vegetarian). He also studied the impact of imagined contact on attitudes towards these outgroups, in a prejudice reduction context. Currently, Vashisht is working as a research and evaluation consultant at Taylor Newberry Consulting in Guelph, in addition to leading various program evaluation projects as a freelance consultant.
On the personal front, Vashisht is a Cricket and MMA aficionado. He also enjoys history, anthropology, travelling and is an animal lover.
